Rigging for Walleyes
Rigging, or Lindy rigging, is one of the most popular walleye fishing
techniques used by Minnesota fishing guides. Named
after the Linder brothers that made this Brainerd
walleye fishing technique famous, the Lindy Rig is a
live bait technique that combines a sliding sinker,
swivel, and snelled hook into a deadly walleye
fishing combination. The thing that makes "rigging"
so effective is the rig's ability to tempt neutral
fish into biting. Although it's one of the
most commonly used walleye fishing techniques in the
Brainerd Lakes area, rigging is also one of the most commonly
"misused" techniques as well. Learn more about this

Jigging for Walleyes
Few
walleye fishing techniques can match the versatility of the
walleye jig. Whether it's crawled, dragged, swum, or
suspended; there are few walleye baits that can be fished in as many different ways
as the jig. Our Minnesota
walleye fishing guides have spent a lifetime
learning exactly what it takes to consistently put walleyes
in their boats; and the jig definitely has its place
and time. When properly fished, the walleye
jig is a remarkable tool. Spring, summer, winter,
and fall; the walleye jig definitely has a place in
every walleye fisherman's tackle box. Learn more

I like to use
several
techniques when
fishing for
walleyes in the Brainerd Lakes
area. These
include Lindy
rigging,
jigging, and
trolling. While
many of these
techniques has
their own
special place
and time
throughout the
season, my
favorite walleye
fishing
technique is
the Lindy rig. I
can't think of
any other method
of fishing that
has accounted
for more
walleyes in my
boat. I would
conservatively
guess that I
Lindy rig almost
80% of the time
when I'm fishing
with customers.
